Classification tree in challenge can be used to filter ideas or to search for them.
⚠️ To add a classification tree to a challenge, at least one tree must be created in your Orchidea. You can find an article about creating a classification tree here: Creating a classification tree.
⚠️ Only challenge owners can add a classification tree to a challenge.
You can classify your challenge's ideas in two ways:
- Adding your classification tree to the idea-collection form so users can classify their ideas themselves or
- Create a classification form that an expert in the evaluation phase of your challenge will fill out.
Adding a classification tree to a challenge's idea collection form
In this instruction, we go through step-by-step instructions on how to add a classification tree to a challenge's idea collection form.
- Move to the Challenge of your choice.
- Go to the tab on the upper right corner of your page.
- Go to the challenge's first phase, the Idea collection phase.
- In the Idea collection phase, click .
- Add the classification tree of your choice from the menu on the right by dragging it to the idea collection form with your mouse.
- If your classification tree isn't shown on the menu, scroll down to the bottom of the menu and press + Add new field. Pick Classification tree as the type, pick your the classification tree of your choice and name your classification. To finish adding your new field press Create.
- If you want to make classifying Mandatory for all idea, press blue.
- To save the changes made click Save on the lower right corner of your form.
Assigning classification task to one user
After the idea collection phase is completed, one user can be assigned a task to classify the ideas. The task should be assigned to only one person so there are no conflicting classifications by multiple users.
This is how you assign classifying to one person:
- Move to the challenge of your choice.
- Go to the tab on the upper right corner of your page.
- Go to the challenge's second phase after idea-collection, for example, Screening or Evaluation.
- Under Primary actions, click .
- Press Add form on the bottom of Manage tab on the right hand side of the appearing page
- Give your form a descriptive name, like classification. Drag the classification tree of your choice from the right field list to the form. If your classification isn't on the field list, click + Add new field at the bottom of the list. Choose Classification tree as your field type, name your field, and pick the classification tree of your choice. Press Create to save your new field.
- To finish up your form, click Save.
- If you want to assign the task classification to another user, click Ask for classification. To do the classification yourself, click Create new.
